Work with us
Work Skills Traineeships provide paid employment opportunities through funding from the Queensland Government’s Skilling Queenslanders for Work program.
They offer the opportunity to gain skills, experience and on-the-job training, as well as formal qualifications, while at the same time contributing to projects that leave a visible and long-lasting impact on social infrastructure in a local community.
The Work Skills Traineeships, running since 2017, have proven so successful that we are one of the few organisations in Queensland awarded a long-term contract. This is down to the support provided to trainees, the level of engagement with other community organisations, and most importantly the employment outcomes. Our last in-take of trainees achieved a record 100% employment by the week following graduation.
Through these Work Skills Traineeships, participants are employed full-time as entry level Trainees on 20 week work placement projects. There are three types of traineeships currently in progress at the Certificate I level:
- SIT10216: Certificate I in Hospitality
- AHC10116: Certificate I in Conservation and Land Management
- BSB10115: Certificate I in Business
With many years’ experience in this area, we recognise that the transition to work can present unique challenges for some and therefore provide professional wrap around support to assist participants in their individual journey towards employment.
Applications have closed for our next round, and the 13 trainees start work on 15th February, 2021.
