The Curlew Wars are over for now, and there’s no more rumblings in the bush… The Island Survivors of the Running Wild Creative Arts Program battled on February 13th 2021 in front of a packed matinee, and sold out evening performance.
This play stars, and has been written and produced by, young people from all Southern Moreton Bay Islands. It’s their story, crafted over the last seven months on a journey through workshops with some of Queensland’s best creative arts talent.
At each performance, The Island Survivors are joined by the Quandamooka’s own Yullubariba dancers, and the play features dances inspired by Waangenga Blanco, former Senior Dancer of the Bangarra Dance Company.
