Usually dies right back in winter but re-shoots in Spring. Each flower only lasts one day but there are many on each plant.
Additional uses
The seeds are reputed to have various medicinal benefits. Caterpillars from the Spotted Bollworm moth and the Cotton Leaf roller feed on the leaves.
